Armin van Buuren shares heartfelt message to celebrate 25 years of A State of Trance

Achieving yet another major milestone in his awe-inspiring career, Armin van Buuren has now shared a heartfelt message as he celebrates 25 years of A State of Trance. 

With 2026 marking 25 years since Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance (ASOT) radio show was first aired, the legendary DJ and record producer has now shared a heartfelt message as he looks back on this major milestone that has defined his illustrious career in more ways than one. Hosted by van Buuren and co-produced by Ruben de Ronde, the very first ASOT episode came to life in June of 2001, and 25 years on, still remains an integral part for all dance music enthusiasts.

Taking to his social media accounts, and Instagram in particular, Armin van Buuren shared a reel with some of ASOT’s groundbreaking moments over these last two decades, whilst also stating: “Thank you for 25 years of ASOT, and counting. Can’t believe it’s been that long since the first episodes aired! I’m so grateful for everyone who’s been with us on this incredible ride. From all the people working on it, to all the artists who have been with us, and most importantly, you. ASOT grew beyond my wildest expectations.”

The ultimate act, celebrating a truly iconic achievement, ASOT boasts over 1,200 episodes and counting, with the radio show now broadcast to more than 150 stations in 84 countries, on a weekly basis, every Thursday to be exact. Remarkable by all means, van Buuren will begin the 25th anniversary celebrations with a 5-hour set at his ASOT event in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on February 27 and 28, and as expected: “We’ve got a lot planned this year, so hope you’re ready!” ONLY on Hits 1 LIVE !
