Calvin Harris splits the difference between his maximalist past and minimalist present on the new collaboration, out now via Sony.

He certainly wasn’t wrong. Out today, “Release The Pressure” melds the production tactics of dance music’s yesteryear with its present moment. Harris builds the runway with bright arpeggios straight out of the EDM superstar’s early-2010s playbook before pulling the arrangement back into modern house minimalism.

Stylistically, the “Summer” producer’s latest marks the continuation of a trend that has seen him increasingly incorporating elements of indie-rock, alternative and even folk-inspired influences into the fabric of his discography. Check out “Release The Pressure” below.

The track’s release is well-timed for both camps. Kasabian are gearing up for the release of their ninth studio album Act III, which is expected to drop in the spring of 2026. Harris, meanwhile, is rolling into a packed 2026 slate in his own right, returning for his weekly residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza throughout this summer.

Vinyl collectors who were quick to the punch had the opportunity to snag a special, limited-edition press of “Release The Pressure” in vibrant ruby red. The vinyl quickly sold-out, and Harris has not announced whether or not it will restock.
