It’s been over 25 years since Moby released his iconic album, ‘Play,’ catapulting him into superstar status. Years later, his music is continuing to resonate with fans and artists, and this latest remake of a classic track is proof.

While dance music has firmly cemented itself within the mainstream of entertainment and fans, this was certainly not the case in the late 90s. While several acts did break through the collection of nu-metal, pop, and rap artists that dominated the charts, they were more the exception than the rule. During that era, Moby certainly forged his path and found new heights of success with the release of his 1999 album Play. Achieving commercial success with the singles South Side and Natural Blues, the producer pushed further, licensing every track on the album for commercial use and making the music a staple of the culture.

As Moby has continued to forge forward with new music, live shows, and positive causes, he continues to celebrate the music of Play. The most recent example involves help from BLOND:ISH and Kiko Franco, who helped reimagine Natural Blues. Discussing the project, BLOND:ISH said, “Moby randomly called me (I never met him, just idolized him since I was a kid) and asks: ‘Wanna remix one of my songs?’ I’m like, ‘Any song?!’ He’s like, ‘Yep, pick one.’ I was with Kiko in Rio, Brazil – so we laid down two ideas in the studio… one felt special and before we knew it, the remix turned into a collab.”

Check out the beautiful new rendition of Natural Blues from BLOND:ISH, Moby, and Kiko Franco below.
